Learning Development Process

Select one of the steps below to find out more.

    • Identify organisational learning and performance needs

    • Analyse audience requirements and identify the platform or method of delivery (e.g. LMS or classroom)

    • Define clear, measurable learning outcomes by reverse engineering with the Kirkpatrick Model

    • Apply Blooms Taxonomy to the learning outcomes for the desired level

    • Consider varying adult learning styles (e.g. Activist, Pragmatist, Reflector, Theorist)

    • Select appropriate content formats to meet the required levels of Blooms Taxonomy (e.g. Remember: Knowledge Checks, Apply: Software Simulation)

    • Design the learner journey and storyboard the course structure

    • Review concepts and storyboard designs with stakeholders and subject matter experts

    • Refine concepts and storyboard designs based on feedback and continuous improvement

    • Develop a variety of suitable formats as identified

    • Develop the learning solution utilising the relevant tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Rise, Synthesia, Adobe Creative Cloud, Vyond)

    • Review accessibility and equality impact

    • Conduct quality assurance, subject matter expert review, user acceptance testing and stakeholder review

    • Publish and deploy learning via the selected delivery method (e.g. SCORM/xAPI through an online learning platform or deliver for classroom use)

    • Validate learner functionality and reporting capabilities

    • Evaluate training effectiveness using the Kirkpatrick Model

    • Analyse learner feedback, engagement, and performance data

    • Implement improvements based on findings
